University
A database of the published works of Charles Sanders Peirce (1839-1914) is under
preparation. It will contain all of Peirce's philosophical and scientific texts published
during his lifetime, a rather extensive set of materials.
The first volume of the series which will be published under this title is currently
shipping. Volume One contains both:
(1) Charles Sanders Peirce: Contributions to THE NATION 1869-1908 (© vol. 1
1975, vol. 2 1978, vol. 3 1979, vol. 4 1987 by Texas Tech University Press). Edited by
Kenneth Laine Ketner and James Edward Cook. Peirce wrote more than 300 reviews on a wide
range of subjects for The Nation. Includes all known reviews, keyed to the
Comprehensive Bibliography, with extensive notes about context as well as other
contributors.
(2) A Comprehensive Bibliography of the Published Works of Charles Sanders Peirce
(© 1986 by K. L. Ketner). Second edition, revised by Kenneth Laine Ketner. (Includes a
secondary bibliography of works about Peirce, by Joseph M. Ransdell and
C.J.W. Kloesel,
current through 1981.) This is the standard bibliographic guide to Peirce's extensive
lifetime publications.
