Contents: Wittgenstein's diaries from the years 1930-1932 and 1936-1937, edited with commentary by the
Brenner-Archiv (Innsbruck), published as 'Ludwig Wittgenstein Denkbewegungen' (Haymon Verlag, 1997).
The letters include exchanges with Ludwig von Ficker, Ludwig Hänsel, Rudolf Koder and Stanislaus
a nd Adele
Jolles. The correspondence has been edited with commentary by the Brenner-Archiv and includes many letters which have never been published previously in any form.
The correspondence between Wittgenstein and Hänsel has been published in print as 'Ludwig Hänsel-Ludwig Wittgenstein: eine Freundschaft' (Haymon Verlag, 1994). Some of the Ficker-Wittgenstein letters have appeared in 'Ludwig von Ficker: Briefwechsel 1909-1967' (4 volumes, 1988-1996).
These exchanges form part of the ongoing Brenner-Archiv project to edit the complete correspondence
(details
at the Brenner Archiv website) of Wittgenstein with detailed commentary on each letter identifying all names, places, literature and events mentioned in it. Collections of letters between Wittgenstein and various correspondents will appear in Past Masters databases as they are finished until the Gesamtbriefwechsel is available in the series some years from now.
