Notes: Hume texts are based on or have been checked against the Green and Grose
edition as well as at least one other edition; original editions were also consulted.
Locke texts were drawn from the 12th Edition, but were checked against original editions.
Berkeley texts were drawn from the Rev. G. N. Wright edition, which is closer in
orthography and punctuation to Berkeley than the Jessop and Luce texts (the standard
edition). The Wright 1st Edition Alciphron has been reduced to variant status,
with the primary text based on the 3d Edition (1752).
