Contents: This first InteLex Past Masters edition of Hegel's Werke contains most of the edition of Hegel's works published after his death in 1831 by an 'association of his friends'. This edition has been the foundation of Hegel research during the last century and a half, although it is now being surpassed by the new (but still incomplete) Hegel Archiv edition.

The 'association of his friends' edition has been reprinted four times in slightly revised forms: twice in the nineteenth century; then on the 100th anniversary of Hegel's death in the so-called Jubilee Edition; and in a paperback edition in 1970.

A second InteLex Past Masters edition, Hegel Werke II, which will contain all of Hegel Werke I and the complete Early, Jena, Nuremberg, Heidelberg and Berlin Writings, is currently being prepared for publication.
