Contents:  Editors Edward and Lillian Bloom have collected and annotated the letters of Hester Lynch Piozzi to her considerable group of correspondents. She and her first husband, Henry Thrale, were intimates of Samuel Johnson and played an important role in London literary life for two decades following their marriage in 1763.

Edward and Lillian Bloom were researchers at the Huntington Library in San Marino, California.
