Introduction to the Women Writers collection

InteLex, in association with Oxford University Press and Pickering & Chatto, is proud to announce Women Writers, a new collection of full-text databases from the publishers of the Past Masters® series.

Whether you are interested in a single title or the entire collection, whether you are an individual scholar with a CD-ROM drive or a library consortium with hundreds of thousands of web patrons, assembling a custom library of Women Writers or any InteLex Past Masters titles is as simple as:

1. Selecting the license appropriate for the intended use
2. Selecting the platform to provide access to the databases
3. Selecting the titles of interest.

The first release of titles in the collection will offer not only primary works, but also letters, journals, and notebooks from important women writers in the English language. Authoritative editions from publishers like Oxford University Press, Pickering & Chatto and Associated University Presses are featured throughout.

The Women Writers collection will be augmented on a regular basis. Scholarly editions foreseen for 2006 include further texts from Austen, Mary Shelley, Eliot, and the Brontės, as well as from Maria Edgeworth and Jane Addams.

A complete bibliography (PDF format) is available for download by clicking here. Bibliographic information is also available by clicking #3 above and then clicking on the title of interest in the table display.

As with all InteLex Past Masters titles, databases in the Women Writers collection reproduce definitive print editions in highest quality electronic form, and can be purchased individually or in any combination to create a customized collection.

Whether you are interested in a single title or the entire collection, whether you are an individual scholar with a CD-ROM drive or a library consortium with hundreds of thousands of web patrons, assembling a custom library of Women Writers titles is a simple process.

Searches may be made within a single text, across a database of texts or throughout the entire Women Writers collection. In fact, searches can be extended across any number of Past Masters databases at once.
