Introduction to the English Letters collection

InteLex, in association with Oxford University Press, is proud to announce English Letters, a new collection of full-text databases from the publishers of the Past Masters series.

Whether you are interested in a single title or the entire collection, whether you are an individual scholar with a CD-ROM drive or a library consortium with hundreds of thousands of web patrons, assembling a custom library of English Letters titles is as simple as:

1. Selecting the license appropriate for the intended use
2. Selecting the platform to provide access to the databases
3. Selecting the titles of interest.

The first release of titles in the collection includes correspondence, diaries, memoirs and notebooks from many of the most distinguished writers, statesmen, scientists, churchmen, explorers and philosophers in British history. Authoritative editions from Oxford University Press and from Pickering & Chatto are featured throughout. The collection will be of fundamental importance to scholarship and teaching in English history, politics, society, literature, language and thought.

A complete bibliography (PDF format) is available for download by clicking here. Bibliographic information is also available by clicking #3 above and then clicking on the title of interest in the table display.

As with all Past Masters titles, databases in the English Letters collection reproduce definitive print editions in highest quality electronic form, and can be purchased individually or in any combination to create a customized collection.

Searches may be made within a single text, across a database of texts or throughout the entire English Letters collection. In fact, searches can be extended across parts or all of the Past Masters and English Letters collections together. Click here for English Letters bibliographic and pricing information. There is also a brief recorded demonstration of the online interface.
