was established in 1951 at St. Patrick's College in Maynooth,
Ireland as an annual journal of academic articles, book
reviews, and critical notices. It had for its aim the
development and diffusion of the Catholic philosophical
tradition by way of exact analysis of contemporary
philosophical problems and movements. The journal also
published a broad range of material on the history of
philosophy, as well as reviews of on-going philosophical work
in several countries. It was supported by the National
University of Ireland and published with occasional
interruptions until 1992
