Orientation: Tulane Studies in Philosophy published topical annual volumes from 1952 to 1987 containing select papers on a particular theme or issue. The mission of the journal was to publish original contributions to philosophy and philosophical scholarship by members of the Tulane University philosophy faculty, Tulane philosophy PhD's, and invited contributors. Some volumes were based on work presented at conferences organized by Tulane during these years. The journal was widely distributed and is now held in hundreds of research libraries.
