Orientation: Philosophy and Phenomenological Research publishes articles in a wide range of areas including philosophy of mind, epistemology, ethics, metaphysics, and philosophical history of philosophy. No specific methodology or philosophical orientation is required for submissions. The journal was established by Marvin Farber in 1940 and it has been at Brown University since 1980. It was first edited at Brown by Roderick Chisholm and since 1983 it has been edited by Ernest Sosa. Philosophy and Phenomenological Researchis published bi-monthly and is the official organ of the International Phenomenological Society.
